February 5th, 2010 It’s Like Christmas Every Day - Those Boxes of New Stuff Keep Arriving!

Sunday hours are on this weekend so come sit, knit, shop, and hang out with us from 12noon-4pm.

We’re Back from the Show!

Ava and Laraine are back from TNNA (The National Needle Arts Association) trade show in Long Beach and they have so many exciting things to tell you about.

Ava took terrific technique classes with Brooklyn Tweed himself (aka Jared Flood) and well-known knit and crochet diva Lily Chin.  Laraine is excited about planning a shop retreat based on a class she took with noted national teacher Gwen Bottner.  Both had a chance to chat with some of the nationally known authors and designers such as Norah Gaughan, Melissa Leapman, Cat Bordhi, Barry Klein, Laura Bryant and Sara Parkes.

Best of all, Ava and Laraine spend two days exploring the world of yarn and knitting accessories looking for the perfect additions to TYC.  Over the next few weeks and months we’re hoping you’ll say “wow” with some fabulous new products including:
  • stunning sock and lace weight yarns from Malabrigo
  • luxurious cashmere scarf kits for him and her (with a choice of patterns included) - aLmost gone!
  • beautiful beaded yarn with patterns supplied right on the skein
  • stunning fashion yarns from Trendsetter (do you Cha Cha?)
  • a mountain of yarn from Mountain Colors including spectacular sock yarn and a wool crepe with yardage and drape to die for
  • a mega hank of the softest baby alpaca that will be perfect for many one skein projects
  • two kinds of mohair including a return of La Boheme and a gorgeous 2 skein shawl pattern that even a beginner can make in no time  - come see the sample shawl - it’s gorgeous!
  • amazing 100% Bluefaced Leicester sock yarn
  • lightweight cotton sock yarn WITH ELASTIC - perfect for our climate
  • amazing new patterns for shawls and socks
  • ingenious cases for storing your circular needles
  • new knitting bags from Nantucket, Namaste, Atenti and Offhand Designs - selling fast!

So we’ll watch for the UPS guy and unpack the new stuff as soon as we can  . . . . plan to stop in often and see what’s new.
